Area Guides for Costa Blanca & Costa Calida
Spain is home to an eclectic mix of stunning resorts, villages and towns scattered along the entire coast and over numerous beautiful costa’s. Choosing the right one for you can be a real challenge, especially when each has it’s own individual charm, unique attractions and their own very special character.
At Homes Overseas we’ve compiled a list of area guides that seek to offer as much information as possible on the resort towns in two of the most popular regions of Spain – the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. Whether you’re just starting out on your journey or coming close to a decision, we hope these will provide some food for thought and maybe a little inspiration!
The Northern region of the Costa Blanca is home to a number of picturesque towns that are extremely popular with both locals and tourists alike. Hosting towns such as Javea and Denia there is no shortage of places of interest to visit in the Costa Blanca North. The northern region is well known for it’s unspoiled views as well as authentic Spanish culture are just a couple of reasons as to why the North of the Costa Blanca is so popular and why so many locals and tourists choose this region as their ideal destination on the Costa Blanca. You can find out more about the Costa Blanca North here.
Extending southwards from the city of Alicante as far as the former fishing village of Torre de la Horadada, the southern Costa Blanca (or White Coast) boasts 65km of beautiful coastline with endless sandy white beaches and arguably the best climate in Spain. Less rugged than its more northerly counterpart, the southern region is flatter with bustling year-round resorts and a lower cost of living. Whilst the Blue Flag beaches and hidden coves along the Mediterranean coast will leave you spoilt for choice, inland you’ll find swathes of olive, orange and lemon groves set in lush countryside with spectacular mountain backdrops.
The Costa Calida is another stunning and popular coastal region of Spain. Translated as the Warm Coast, the Costa Calida lives up to it’s name with gorgeous sun and hot temperatures throughout most of the year. The Costa Calida is home to many popular places of interest such as the Mar Menor as well as hosting the extremely popular city of Murcia. Again, while the entirety of the Costa Calida is stunning and worth exploring, it is important to understand the areas of the Costa Calida that are right for you.
