Built in the traditional Spanish finca style, for many a golfer the clubhouse (or 19th hole) represents the best place on the course! Rest assured whether its for commiserations or celebrations, the Vistabella Clubhouse is the perfect venue at which to relax and unwind after a strenuous round on the course.
The superb restaurant offers a selection of snacks and light bites as well as a range of Spanish and international Á la carte cuisine. A number of the bays are covered, providing a comfortable shade from the year-round Costa Blanca sunshine – or even protection from the elements on the (rare!) occasions of inclement weather.
The driving range is the perfect place for seasoned golfers and amateurs alike to hone their swing and prepare for a day on the course.
In addition to the superb driving range facilities, Vistabella Golf also offers the opportunity to perfect your short game on a the purpose made practice area which is complete with bunkers designed to help improve technique in the sand for that occasional wayward shot.
VISTABELLA GOLF COURSE
The Vistabella Golf course has been designed by former European Cup and World Champion Manuel Pinero, who drew on his experience playing in Ryder Cups, European Tours, World Cups and the Dunhill Golf Cup to create a course which offers a real challenge to any avid golfer whilst simultaneously welcoming higher handicappers with more forgiving tee positions.
The full 18 hole golf course at Vistabella opened in January 2018 after the final long-awaited 7 holes were finally unveiled. The course existed as a somewhat curtailed 11 holes from its inception in 2010 after a planning issue in the initial stages resulted in only 11 holes being approved. The missing 7 holes were planned to sit on land controlled by the neighbouring town hall who had initially agreed the development before subsequently reneging on the agreement in pursuit of a greater financial settlement. Thankfully, the politics are long since settled and the course can now be played in all of it’s originally intended glory.
Even in it’s 11 hole guise, Vistabella was a highly popular course and has only continued to thrive since its completion. The course provides a great selection of challenges with cleverly positioned lakes, heavy bunkering and undulating fairways leading to tricky sloping greens. The course design places the focus on accuracy rather than distance hitting so ball placement is vital to score well . Although you’re unlikely to lose too many balls you can expect to drop shots if you find yourself out of position. Vistabella features some really excellent holes from the short 4th which is a par-four over water, to the superb par-5 downhill 10th hole together with a number of stunning par 3s which feature challenging elevation changes.
Course Masterplan

Vistabella Golf Course... Hole by Hole
Nice downhill hole to start. Hitters should keep in mind that the fairway bunker is achievable from the tee. A short or medium iron to attack the green well protected by bunkers is the best option.
A nice par 3 slightly down the hill. A medium iron will get you to the green protected by a bunker at the front. If you miss the green, the left side is the safest option, leaving you an easy chip.
A great Par 5 downhill. Two good shots will bring you closer to the green. The ideal drive is on the left side of the street. There are two bunkers in the landing area of the second shot. This generous green is guarded by water on the left side and behind.
This hole is a good birdie opportunity. The driver is not necessary from the tee because you can reach the water. The safest line is the right half and you will have a short / medium shot to the green protected by water and bunkers.
A good par 5 that turns left and uphill. Keep your drive to the left side of the fairway to avoid the bunker on the right. The third shot is played on an elevated green protected by bunkers in front.
A challenging par 4. Turn right and down the hill. Aim for the right side of the fairway for the tee shot. The second shot is played on a fairly small green with a short bunker to the right, so the left side is a safe place.
There are no bunkers. A nice par 3 hole down the hill with very little risk. Note that missing the long green to the left you will find water. Anything that lands before the green will run downhill to this generous green.
This hole has a wide fairway. The left side is perfect to avoid the fairway bunker, which is within reach of a good drive. The second shot is played to a raised green with a short bunker to the right.
A challenging uphill hole that turns right. The ideal line from the tee is between the fairway bunker to the left and the characteristic Vistabella trees in the distance. Aim your second shot to the left.
Great par 5 downhill. From the tee, any shot close to the center is good. On the second blow, he points to the left, the street falls towards the water. The third shot should be a short shot to the green protected by water and bunkers.
A forceful par 3. Usually longer than the distance it marks. The green is well protected by bunkers to the front and to the left. There is a forgiveness area to the right, but from here we can find a compromised shot to the green. Par is a good result.
A relatively short par 4. Fairway and green well protected by bunkers. The ideal line from the tee is the bunkers on the left side of the fairway as the ball will fall towards the center. It will leave you with a short iron shot to the green.
A par 4 not excessively long but with some difficulty. Any hit to the right of the fairway will fall into the water. The green is protected by a large bunker in front and to the left. Safe place to fail is to the right of the green.
A great par 5. Hitters can hit the green of two. The best line from the tee is to avoid the bunker on the left side of the fairway. The same in the second hit. The third shot is best played in the middle of the green as the green is well protected by bunkers.
A nice par 3 downhill. Accuracy is paramount as the green is almost surrounded by a large and short bunker on the right. A shot to the center of the green won’t get you far behind with your birdie putt.
A relatively short par 4 playing downhill with no hidden risks. The bunker plays from the tee and also the waste area to the left. The second shot should be aimed more towards the right side of the green, as the left side is heavily protected by bunkers.
Water! There is not as much danger as it seems. The safe and short side is to the right. The hardest hitters pass the water comfortably. If you avoid the bunkers the second shot will be a short / medium iron to this green with 3 levels.
Challenging par 4 to the right and uphill. From the tee there is a very wide fairway. The second shot is to a green well protected by bunkers in front and to the right.
